This book has made me feel super uncomfortable, but I can't not continue reading it. It's the phrase "a trainwreck in slow-motion", but in only the best sense of the term, it knows what it's doing and it's doing it damn well, too. Christ...

I need to go for a walk, though, shake off these heebie-jeebies.

That little creep really is a ghost, he doesn't even look dirty.

He is some kind of revenant haunting the battlefields.

Since this manga is originally intended for japanese audience, then the message might be conveyed. However, for international audience, especially from countries with history of japan occupation, this might be seen as a mocking. That last panel for example, it sounds like a sarcasm.

A bit hard for me to be honest to digest any "anti-war" stories from japanese authors. Of course these authors are not guilty of anything. Those history was their predecessors doing, after all. It's just.. can't they be more balanced on telling stories?
