There was an old parody of an interview with Stephen King in either Cracked or Mad, back in the days when they were both magazines on paper. Basically, he just admitted that all he did was look around for some innocuous item he hadn’t used before, and wrote a novel where it came to life and attacked people. (Not really a fair description of King, but it was a cheap gag in a crummy humor magazine — for that reason, I think it must have been Cracked, which was unbelievably awful when it was in print.) But some of the manga that shows up really seems to be following that, uh, recipe. Maybe there should be a tag for this, “Object Horror” or something.

Could you not raise such a flag? No seriously, all the new horror mangas start like that: "it's boring, my life is uneventful". I didn't even start reading that I already know all his friends will die and that his psychotherapist is going to need antidepressant.
