Oh yeah, the author mislead readers into thinking disguised Raoul was the god of music with the music notes on his appearance in front of the king - meanwhile he was also actually just chilling on God of War's lap, completely unperceived by any of the gods.

I just remember dismissing the discrepancy as a lost-in-translation/speech bubble mistake with the names, or a tandem gods-type situation (a la kenpachi-yachiru in bleach)

I thought it was obvious that the elf looking guy was Music since he's directly called out as music by blacksmith.

Looking back, I guess the Gods were never trying to directly assist the king

They are all thinking about giving more trials to Raoul, but all the examples are all almost like personal attacks to Raoul and people close him: his mother, his sister, the orphan kids, and his friends betraying him.

with that in mind, killing the citizen of Raoul's paradise fits more with those examples than assisting the king of human race, even if the latter might be of their interest as well.

I thought it was obvious that the elf looking guy was Music since he's directly called out as music by blacksmith.

Notice how the "God of war" doesn't say anything. I'm gonna bet that either that's not the real one, or he got trapped in one of Raoul's illusions. His disguise is proof that they can affect even gods...
