I... actually kind of liked that ending to this chapter.
I've never really been fond of the trope where one character is invested into the relationship and the other isn't, but naturally comes to fall in love by spending time with the other person in a low committal way.
I also don't really enjoy dynamics where one character in a relationship is clearly in the driver's seat at all times, and the other character just gets pulled any which way by the leading character's whims. I prefer more of a back and forth.

So it's interesting to see this premise actually become a central point of conflict for the plot. In an ideal world, they would've talked it out and patched things up on the spot, but in practice I think that actually would have been a mistake to try. Kaede is in a confusing and delicate spot right now. She wants a relationship with Moko (which she has), but she also realizes that the current relationship she has is kind of messed up and not very fulfilling. I think it's smart of her to take a step back and take some time to think through the problem and decide what she wants to do from here on out.

I wasn't really that invested in this title before, but depending on how it proceeds from this development, I might end up becoming so. I feel like it has more potential than I was giving it credit for at first.
