I'm not usually one to call for the death of children, but given the circumstances of a village like this that is barely eeking out their existence, it might be better to just end them right then and there instead of a more civilized punishment. Depends on how many they are though, and if they can sustain without those children. The parents might have to make new ones. Depending on the circumstances, the parents might have to die too for raising them like this; even if it's a "youthful mistake" and they can be rehabilitated, resources are scarce and it might be better to cut out the rot immediately
