Still kinda weird that someone who I would assume is their homeroom teacher is unaware of a twin sister of a student.

She "clearly" knows? There's nothing she says that indicates that she knows there's another twin. The "other side" has only be described as her odd behavior and the rumors the MC's peers are talking about. The author is being vague on purpose and it's poor storytelling IMO if the teacher actually knows but she continues to play around.
