But I swear to god, theres at least dozen of mangas where when MC was "running" away like this, the girls jumped his shit saying that running away is what he is doing, cause he doesn't want the non-chosen ones to be hurt, so he rather hurt all of them - which is worse in their eyes.

So I am confused here a bit.
