the girl what was shown is his memories of the middle school, she was the only one, who wasn't directly making fun of him, but one day, she came and confessed her feelings for Sakuto, but Sakuto saw other people behind the corner and thought that she was forced to confess on a dare. When he poited out to her, that he knows it was a confession on a dare, she ran away, people behind the corner started giggling/laughing, but Saskuto started crying, which made him realise, that he is finally "normal". As of end of volume 3, a shocking plot twist was shown, that the confession, wasn't actually on a dare, but these were her honest feelings, but she was propably too shocked and shy to correct him at a time, so she ran away.

So... here's that.

Well, there isn't much information about that in the novel + I've been trying for past 7 minutes come up with a plausible scenario why that would happen... and got all blanks, so no clue. Sorry.

A setup used in both normal mangas and like short one-shots/manga dub videos - sometimes the dare part is even a fake out - aka the girl lost on purpose to "force" herself, etc.

As a side note: Quality this time is really bad. Not MTL translation bad, but "English language not being your native one" bad, or at least "nobody proofread it before posting" bad. Lots of small mistakes here and there, some meh, some making sentences barely readable.

Well, that could be the case, but in the novel, the "guy that is also preping for the event" asked her "you aren't gonna tell him the truth?", which means, that he could knew about her feelings for him before the confession part. It's possible that she was dared to/lost the dare on purpose to be forced to confess, but imo it's just as likely that she just tried to confess normally and before she went to confess, she could have said that she loves him and that she was gonna confess and the "friends" might have been like "there's no way he's gonna say yes, he's a robot" (or something)

Yeah. Anything possible. I mostly like spoilers, cause there is so many mangas out there, the ones I like often get AXEd, or end abroubtly cause they were only adds for LN or something. The long ones often have quality dropped to the ground cause authors milk them. So I like to spoil myself as a form of selecting what to read.
