So elves do exist in this world.
I'm a little nervous about their intentions, but I hope it's not bad. The refugees are very vulnerable right now and I do not know what the elves' relationship is with beastkin and humans. With other beastkin, at least we know they worship the gryphons, but the elves are quite the wild card for now.
Worst case is that the elves also practice slavery themselves or they'll sell out the beastkins to humans. Elves in most stories are not known to be very welcoming of outsiders and they do not tend to form mixed-race coexisting societies.
