well, this is original romance story, not an adaptation LN or WN. it’s also the first manga series by sensei Toyobayashi Sakane.
romance development moves very slow, and NPC interactions are only seen a few times. maybe later on the NPC will interact more (though it’s kinda tricky since setting in rural village with few people).
heroine is a cool/kuudere type and MC is quiet, so for romance and comedy are a bit weak for now. but maybe keep reading up to chapter 10+ to see if it stays super slow story or storyline stuck no progress.

How do their schedules work? The girl needs to travel farther to the city, so shouldn't she leave earlier and come back later? I guess if the boy leaves late due to a club, whereas the girl has no club activity, it might explain the same bus on the way back. But otherwise this would at least indicate her school days start later than the boy's, consistently.

I enjoy how natural this manga feels so far. It feels like these two are actually high schoolers who have become distant. You know how awkward it is to even say hello to somebody you used to know? That was portrayed well here.
