Children are gonna be children, they don't think about things like that. Most people had a crush on someone older when they were growing up and most don't ever let them know. She was brave enough to do that.
I don't have a problem with her doing it so much as the manga presenting it as personal growth and good.

In fact, it's a sign of immaturity to not understand the boundary there.

I love this kind of tsundere
Yess the kind you don't feel like MC is getting abused just because she doesnt want to be honest. I love this kind of tsundere where you can feel she's just shy to be honest but isnt making the guy she likes feel bad for her actions(like shouting at him, beating him, making him feel inferior with hurtful words).
Recently I was reading a novel and a "tsundere" princess kept ordering the guy like a lackey and people in the comments were like "how cute, she's a tsundere" and I was "wtf excuse me? I just see her being very overbearing to the point every sentence was like 'MC did what she asked because she was glaring as if she would kill him if he refused'". The worst thing is that I felt like the only one in the comments and everyone else was praising the girl.

An-chan feels awkward because, in her eyes, she and the MC are simply close friends. However, everyone around them seems convinced that there's something more between them. Being confronted with that idea makes her embarrassed, especially since she hasn't fully figured out her own feelings yet.

that actually played really bad, it looks like she just gave him because he was hungry, and the mom nagging part and tsundere stuff, they put every bad trope over there.

This has gotten sort of interesting - it's like the tsundere trope, but with extra actual psychology.

Two chapters ago, I was impressed and sort of surprised when An was talking to Shunpei about Lulu and she was so comfortable with him that she was sitting in the seat directly behind him, leaning forward so she was sort of draped over the back of the seat next to him, just comfortably talking and obviously not even thinking about how physically close they were. Then Lulu later asked her how things were going with Shunpei and she got all flustered, and the next time she got on the bus, she threw up a wall between them and went and sat by herself. Then again, with this chapter, her friends started teasing her about Shunpei and she got all flustered again and started out pretty much ignoring him completely, then when she got sort of backed into giving him cookies anyway, she covered it up with the tsundere thing.

I guess it's just sort of strange to see an author relate a chain of events that logically leads to someone acting in a way that could be considered tsundere instead of just sort of arbitrarily flipping a switch on a character and activating tsundere mode. And that's pretty admirable really.

Damn look at her trying to play it off all cool.

An clearly hasn't really thought all that much about her own feelings on the matter, so I hope her well-meaning friends pestering her about shunpei don't throw her off too much and trigger an overcorrection.

For someone who won't give some to Shunpei, she surely prepared with 2 different bags of cookies. Also she started to sounds like a mother, that's another step taken to marriage 😭😭😭

i think the opposite really. i think she's really been thinking about it and is very aware of "something" happening but she's really embarrassed and doesn't know how to deal with it.

If she hadn't thought much about it, we wouldn't have gotten the tsudere page and she would have just given it to him casually.

If anything, I think she's probably giving it more thought than Shunpei as she's probably an overthinker ;)

I'd like to see An's face as she walks home. I think the author deliberately chose not to show it. It's very possible that An does have feelings for him, even if she finds it hard or doesn't want to admit it.
Thank you for the translation!

Boss mode An is great :win:

At this point it's pretty clear that An doesn't hold any romantic feelings for Shunpei, so the teasing from her friends is pushing her to put up walls. Like, the first shot of her on the bus shows her budged up towards the window, is that because she's (unintentionally) trying to keep her distance?

Definitely some potential misunderstanding and hurt feelings in the mix now. Oh, to be young :haa:
If she was shown to think it over and decide to ignore him and refuse to give the cookies while avoiding conversation then yes you'd be correct.

Thing is, she caved with no pressure and gave him a bag. What they're doing is making her self conscious and embarassed. Its why she ordered him to not eat it on the bus (where she can see his reaction) and she covered it up with "dont eat them all before dinner". What was never even an idea is now up close in front of her most days.

I see a bit of myself in An. She’s a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to romance, which means she doesn't quite grasp it, you can tell she gets confused when Lulu talks about the teacher's bangs falling over his eyes.

She doesn't fully understand her own tastes yet, but she’s certainly closer to Shunpei and has started seeing him as a boy, a romantic interest, rather than just a childhood friend.

She tends to be very rational and logical, so she doesn't yet understand the kind of romance that stirs up emotions and leaves you floating on a cloud of feelings. But I believe she’ll start to get it soon. I love a slow burn!:glee:
