As much as it does suck when a series gets axed before it gets into its stride, especially since the author was introducing new elements and clearly wanted to expand the cast/stories, let's be honest. If this series did continue, it more than likely would've been 100+ chapters of "will they, wont they" fluff while the author would introduce side characters/romances to tide readers over while the main romance struggles to get past the starting point.
Like everyone else, I did enjoy this series and would've liked seeing it get the "full run" treatment. However mangas like this where a guy and a girl comedically deal with their feelings while surrounded by a cast of oddballs are a dime a dozen these days. This one, sadly, just got lost in the shuffle.
It's a sad fact of the entertainment industry, including manga; some creative works get axed before the creators even had the chance to prove themselves. Only this case probably wont get the "Firefly" treatment.
All Onio can do now is move on and start a new project, and hope it leads to better results.
