I mean it looks like both the husband and the wife are not that passionate about each other and kind just rolling with it. The cousin's flashback is also from way back since he appears to be a high schooler in it. So those days are long gone. Only reason she is paying attention now is because she is suspecting that he is cheating.

She has probably thought more about the possibility of him cheating in the last couple of chapters than she's thought about him as a person in the past decade. Like someone else mentioned, an agreed upon divorce would not be that weird of an outcome for all this.

Regardless though, MC's problem is more fundamental as in, he has zero agency in whatever he does. Just this little tid bit of how the cousin invited himself in even though it could have easly been a massive disaster, he couldn't stop him. If there will be any improvement, his doormat persona has to go first.
Really could see his one and final decision within the story is agreeing to an amicable divorce, or fully telling the other girl (after she grows to understand that the dude's body isnt her goal, but how reliable and caring he is as a partner) that she should find someone else she can fall in love with.
The way i see it, its building up his arc of redfining his self worth, and her figuring out her emotions and becoming more emotionally mature. Idrk if any of the other characters have been set up as a plan B, but the sister telling the brother how proud of her husband she is and how she hopes her brothers grows up to be like her husband has me thinking it could be him after he stops being used as the set up to the punchline in the gags

one thing the author setup is he called his wife "like a big sister" so instead of cheating they might just break up amicably
I think in future chapters the wife will find out about Ayase's feelings for his husband and discover how much effort she put into someone who clearly has no intentions of betraying his family or witness how his husband rejects her advancements, making her realize how much for granted she took his husband and how she neglected their relationship, then probably decide to divorce him amicably

I mean, it would make sense for them do "talk it out" amicably, they have a daughter together. But it's still surprising to me how everyone is out for the husband's throat while all they do is fuck him over in every sense of the word. The ninja-muscle lady was the first to truly care in a while, if at all.
