Yeah. He could have been 100% truthful when he said their daughter mocked him for his belly, and that she wasn't even the only one. And that a colleague of his is a fitness nut and suggested a new diet and exercises to shape up.

Usually I'm annoyed by miscommunication (or just straight up lack of communication) but this was a very funny chapter.

The brief pause from imagining zany sex poses to calmly pull off a perfect long pour of coffee before instantly going sicko mode and doubling down on the theorizing was golden.

On one hand the wife being this dumb is kinda funny but on the other no married woman would let him leave like that without an explanation.

So very contrived. It feels like the author couldn't think of a good out for him from that end of the last chapter.
