Okay that was painfully hilarious. Really curious how it will go with her though, knowing she actually wants to bang him. Wonder if she will lay into the doubt to seperate him or actually be a nice person and lay her worry to rest....which may also make a misunderstanding.

Unwittingly roping the "accomplice" into her amateur hour sleuthing of her husband's mysterious second life should go wonderfully.

I hope we get a bit more insight into their marriage from her perspective. We know that he thinks of himself as this hopeless nobody for whom all marital intimacy is long dead. We see her low-grade abuse him in the earlier chapters and disparage him as a man and marital partner, but after that point....nothing, and her actual demeanor seems to have shifted away from that entirely.

It feels like her initial portrayal was meant to set up a "see? The husband has a reason to 'step out' on her because she's mean and is withholding sex" type of excuse, but then that line sorta appears to be abandoned - and the wife's no longer really acting that way, and even seems to (in this chapter, at least visually) think back on their marriage and life as relatively positive and pleasant.

Feels like a bit of a mismatching of tone, but I don't want to be hasty and call it a screw-up on the part of the author, or anything - so I look forward to getting more information, and hopefully more context as to how they both really feel about one another and the state of their marriage.

I think it's too early to call it bad writing.
For most of the series after the early chapters, we've been seeing her in "suspicious mode" (and from her own perspective as has been mentioned already). It is perhaps not unreasonable that while she is trying to gauge what's going on with her husband and is in an alerted state, she might not be equally standoffish as usual and show her negative side as much. If she's usually been indifferent to her husband, then it makes sense we wouldn't see that much of her indifference when her attention has been piqued by suspicion and the general noticing of his alteration of behaviour.
She has certainly not shown any particularly positive attitude towards her husband in that time to say that there's been a much substantial change in her behaviour. For the most part, they still lack intimacy, warmth and communication even if she's not badmouthing him or denying sex (which she doesn't get the chance to do anyway, since he's already too tired for it anyway). The problems have not been solved, it's just a difference of how much her attention has been aroused by him compared to when she might have taken him for granted. It's also not unreasonable to see a partner try harder in their relationship once they feel that relationship is threatened.

Her thinking of the good memories does not necessarily mean she was happy with the relationship in the present/at the start of the manga either. It probably means she recognises an overall value to that relationship and her husband in that moment when she is prompted to think about it, but that does not automatically translate to remembering, expressing and living those emotions on the everyday life. This is exactly the challenge that this type of couple has and that this story likely also aims to portray: couples who may have things to like about each other, but struggle to show that in their everyday life and have allowed themselves to let go and their marriage to become stale.

So why does not the husband question her like she's questioning him about who she was with? Honestly him divorcing her would be the only good ending. Rejecting intimacy and mocking him for being old and asking for sex and making fun of him with the cousin on phone, but only somewhat coming around when he gets attention from another woman. She is irredeemable.

My prediction: this turns into a situation where Ayase ends up fixing their stagnant marriage through her meddling.

Whatever happens when the wife meets Ayase again, I’m betting she becomes inspired to improve her own fitness as well.

Then the daughter gets into it and they all start hitting the gym and eating better as a family.

How wholesome and wonderful. A nice family values manga.

I was soooo looking forward to this chapter just to see how it all played out from last chapter. But instead, we got the confrontation between the two already at home to address the situation. No way in HELL I see my partner looking like he's getting his prostate massage and Ayase's face without me confronting the situation at hand. Or in his case, wonder why my wife is with my coworker. Even tho it made for a fun chapter, but would've saved his wife from doing mental gymnastics.
