For a monster like Takahashi wired on survival, that would be out of character and as for Itou, she was okay with killing her friend's doppelganger, but will spare the main threat? Where is the sense on that plot?

And no, Takahashi don't kill because she needs on a biological level, she kills just so she can use people skins as a shell, if she wanted she literally could just live as a giant worm in the middle of nowhere

The reality is that neither of them needs to kill human because they'll survive just fine, they kill just for disguises, main difference is that N is simply more malicious and do it more freely while Takahashi only does it when her current shell is expiring

The result is still the same, both kill innocent people because they want, because they need a disguise to walk among humans

Before you try argue otherwise I recommend you go reread the chapters where we see Takashi past, we literally see and she outright says she lived as a giant worm for a long time, she has zero necessity to kill humans, she could just as easily eat animals and use their skins as a shell, she simply chooses to kill innocent humans instead

Both are unrepentant monsters that will kill innocent humans simply because they want to and it's convenient, N being worse doesn't make Takashi less of a monster

Like I said before the only real difference is that we're attached to one of them lol

Yeah, justice for HER friend. That Itou proved to have a connection with. Itou was willing to kill her friend's clone, but can spare her killer? There is no sense in that. That would be conflicting writting of her character. And funny how you decided to ignore the survival argument for Takahashi. Her entire persona was killing to survive and now she might spare someone that, not only proved to be stronger, but also far more unhinged and with reasons to go after both of them? It goes against her whole character presented through the entire series.

while I agree with the sentiment, I think that is ironically the most human thing though..? Like what you're describing is estientially the trolly problem. You either choose to destroy all monsters and sacrifice the one you love, who is a monster, or you change the track and kill a bunch of humans to allow said one you love to live at the cost of their lives ultimately being little better than the monsters you fought.
which pretty sure is what Itou meant by unable to become normal... That Takahashi has become more and more human (learned to love and cherish another), while Itou has become more cold, calculating, and callous to the deaths of others if it means getting the end goal she wants; exactly like the monsters including Takahashi at the beginning of the story
