This manga does a good job of showcasing unspoken tension (sensual or not). It's genuinely impressive.
Its obvious that mangaka is either married or had serious relationship(s) in his life and has experience.

Unlike other mangakas which think good relationships are always rainbows and fireworks.

Thats what I like about this manga and other ones like Horimiya. They have their ups and downs in the relationship, it feels real and good to read.

this manga is so real. real characters that could exist in real life. so underrated, so good. a hidden gem of a manga. that's why one can relate to any character, even the supporting ones. Truly one of the best mangas

Not gonna lie, I'm not sure if it's just because I'm sleep-deprived and my brain is fried, but I'm struggling to make sense of this arc.

In this arc, Jirou and Akari run into two of Jirou's former middle school clubmates, which stirs up some internal conflict for him. Feeling uneasy about being around his past connections, Jirou tells Akari he's considering changing his major to avoid sharing the same college campus as them. Akari disagrees, saying he shouldn't let other people influence such a big decision. Jirou acknowledges she's right but counters that Akari wouldn't fully understand his perspective—since, in his view, she's always been carefree and never had to struggle with uncertainty like he does. They end up 'arguing,' and we flash back to Akari’s past.

In the flashback, we learn about Akari's initial love for Tenjin and see some of her own struggles, revealing that her carefree attitude might not be as effortless as Jirou thinks. Back in the present, Jirou has a phone call with Tenjin, and they discuss what it means to live freely, acknowledging Akari's strength in doing so. Finally, Jirou and Akari reconcile.

I'm still trying to understand the main message of this arc and how these events tie together. If anyone could help shed some light, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for the chapter!
Fights in copules aren't wrong per se, lets say you fight over something that you don't agree with someone, in this case both protagonists argue over their way of life. the point of the flashback and the reconciling is first, understanding the background that made Akari be how she is, and why thats so cool. Making Akari understand Jirou's perspective on the matter and Jirou himself understanding why his wife is how she is, wih that's not wrong and where did he messed up. at the same time Jirou is now changing into a less afraid version if himself. a Jirou that is not scared of people he doesn't like and a Jirou that respects what's his over the influence of those he doesn't approve of, in this case his future. Hope this helps

They kissed. It just wasn't shown. It's why they're blushing and the counter appeared
I don't get it then, if they kissed why she still looked upset? Idk If I read into it just right but it looked like after the joke he made "I'm use to it" it looked like his face changed almost like he was upset or thinking of something that might be bothering him and then caught himself and said goodnight with a smile. She was surprised by it but I believe she knew something was wrong that's why she looked upset in the end.

I don't think they kissed. I think they got really close and he didn't go through with it.
