oof it is painful but somehow a very neat conclusion. Still painful. Another addition to the losing record of childhood friend

Yay, BOTH of them know they chose the wrong things and regretted it but chose to accept it and move on, that's is a good conclusion for what the standard is nowaday.

The reason I have strong feelings about this season's "the dreaming boy is a realist" is this. You cannot take someone's attention for granted and then do a 180 when they decide to finally move on. Same problem with Nisekoi, and Cuckoo. Make up your fricking mind, ask someone out/accept someone's confession/turn them down, and that's it. No need to drag things around in circles. (Although to be fair teenagers do be like that. I was like that)

I'm glad it finally resolved here, but it really shouldnt take this long. Then again this genre is the kind where the couple getting together is the epilogue. I know its not the same genre but I cannot help but compare the romances between these and gems like Komi or Uzaki (or hopefully Bisque doll depending on how they play the romance angle)

It really felt sad. They both loved each other and if they acted differently they would've been together. They didn't, and now it's too late. I wouldn't mind a Shiori what if, but for the main story now that she's out of the race I hope the author will give us progress with Akari.

I mean, they didn't clearly said "I love you" right into their face. They just sitting there, crying, and hugging at each other. It's like, even without those words, they kinda understand at each other feelings and regretted for not saying it or expressing it before a new love for Akari is blooming and Jiro's love for Shiori is slowly withered, exhausted, and dying.

That took a lot of guts from Jirou and the author. Literally for the author. I was expecting the author will milk that status quo until graduation and for it to be handled this way, it was beautiful. Now, there's nothing holding him back, go for it Jirou!

I get why people could miss it. Some people are like MCs. Some people just have a different line of thought. Like I said before:
it's more something you feel than something you know
I think this is a good showing of the difference between implicit and subtle. Just because something isn't explicit doesn't make it subtle. And this was not subtle. So very not subtle at all.

Although the part that hit the hardest was her starting to cry when she was walking home. Not some dramatic, emotional scene where two people come to an understanding about their mutual and not so mutual feelings, but just walking home and being unable to stop from crying.

Also because it's not just about being rejected. It's about being rejected because she blew it all by herself, and she has nothing to blame except her own mistakes. That's rough.

Exactly. Akari’s personality seems so unappealing to me. I’m not sure why so many people prefer her to Shiori
People prefer her because she is designed to stick out compared to other characters (Unless you prefer the plain innocent shiori) and because she just have way more screentime

Point counter just chilling there as a silent reminder of the live-in arrangements being graded. I wonder if that's actually still relevant to the plot going forward. Anyway, gotta be back on the Akari train now.
They already had a separation arc, and made it clear that neither actually wants to split up. Even if they can basically ace the assignment in their sleep at this point, they need to properly confess so they don't have to deal with that again. It was more of a shadow over them when they actually were chasing someone else. Even Jiro admitted that he barely noticed it was there in one of the .5 characters.
