All these romcom mangas share the same reasons why first/childhood friend girl loses and the second/new one wins is simply because they are too shy and passive failing to take the initiative to advance the relationship while second/new doesn't carry the baggage of knowing/caring about the person as a friend before romantic interest. First/childhood friend deserves what they began and end up with, watching someone else become their friend's love interest because they were able to think therefore experience something outside the safe zone.
