So Walmart did not operate in Japan under their American brand name. Eventually their operations in Japan were deemed a failure and they largely pulled out of the country. Walmart's operations outside the US are a mixed bag and if people know it it mostly reminds them of the US, not of a supermarket.

As a non-American, my earliest and most vivid impression of 'Walmart' was footage of children buying bullets there, might've been from Bowling for Columbine. So when I hear or read 'Walmart' out of context like in this chapter I often think of American gun violence rather than a supermarket, lol.

I actually really enjoy how ruthless she is. I do. But even I have to admit that this is some cutthroat (almost psychopathically so) behavior. She's not even really doing this for Mebuki's own good. The look in her eyes gives her away—she WANTS Mebuki to fail, and in the most depressing way possible in this situation.

There's no denying that Mebuki's very foolish. But it kinda hurts to see her like this. Another person in the previous chapter mentioned feeling some anxiety from reading this manga. I feel like I felt that in this chapter in particular, and I can't remember the last time a manga managed to strongly evoke such a feeling from me.

Who knew this would all stem from the intersection of cute girls and forex trading?
