The mental gymnastics needed to thank that evil bitch...
Yeah, I thought it was dumb when I read it earlier - I mostly was thinking about how much being an adult and grinding a job can suck and all that..

But it just hit me out of the blue just now, "This bitch just said 'Thank you for ruining my life and pushing me to defile my body and soul'".
I guess she doesn't quite know the EvilBitch was using her as a 'Canary in the coalmine' which contributed to her losing her tuition in the first place though.

At most, I guess it's like "Thank you for showing me what it's like to hit rock bottom and bounce up from it"?
I guess that's a decent lesson that most her age might have to wait at least a few more years to get or simply live their entire lives in dread of an "unrecoverable" mistake - so they lose heart over relatively minor/common issues? Whatever

Mochiko is such a damn snake. It's not my place to tell Mebuki how she should feel about what Mochiko did to her. But my god expressing gratitude to the person who effectively made your life worse is...certainly a decision.

Thank you for the translation.

I think it's thanking her for dispelling her naivete...?

That's the most charitable explanation I can find

Yasuko winning is basically "investing in yourself is the best investment to make when you are young." I approve of this message.
