Certainly historically accurate for her to say 'men don't cry' in this situation but honestly feels kind of horrible even with the joke softening it.
Like, FFS, if being all-but-abandoned by your surviving parent (however justified the reasons may or may not be) isn't the time to cry, are you only allowed to cry at their god-damned funerals? Or not even then? Trying to make generation after generation of emotionally constipated men >.>;;
