I spend an uncomfortable portion of the last few days in a pointless argument because americans writing "an herb" bugs me... JUST trying to escape from that today...
... And here I run into the same fucking thing again. Life has a sick sense of humour.
Is it a herb or an herb?
A: In the United States, the “h” in “herb” is silent. In Britain, it's sounded. We say “an 'erb” while the British say “a herb.”
