that last line really makes me think, Frost is the black knight and hiding her gender to get to hold her title (as in this world and in much history of ours titles were exclusively for men). Was the previous black knight not her dad, but her mom?

Have they been going through this cycle of pretending to be men to get to keep ahold of their title and thus stay as the black knight defender of this city for much longer than just Frost.

And like the armore does look all kinds of evil right, but also, how much of the toll of being the black knight, is having to hide everything about yourself to everyone around you, forever.

Alternatively, the father killed her mother, after going berserk, probably a feature of the armour and then Frost had to kill him. Would explain her attitude towards having a spouse beyond just hiding her gender. If your parents got killed due to the power of the armour, would you trust yourself not to do it to your beloved?

If both mom+dad are involved, that makes my conspiracy theory of the slain dragon being the previous black knight make slightly more sense, since the dragon + previous black knight could just be multiple members of the family, carrying the black knight's curse, though not 100% the same thing.

That's a really good thought-
I was kinda thinking the opposite, that her mother had been abused by the previous black knight to the point that she died early, and Frost really DID kill her father (or allow him to die)...because he was a terrible person that didn't deserve the power he held over others.
