That bitch dumb as fuck. If i was bitten, i would've killed myself in most definitely.
Very easy to say while writing behind a computer and no zombie apocalypse is happening. Most people would still cling to the hope that maybe that bite or scratch is not enough. Of course, he should have stayed away from others tho.

Yeah true. He shouldn't have risked it though, since his selfishness cost the entire commune their lives. He could've told someone he trusted and isolated himself for like 3 days to make sure he wasn't going to turn first, or he could've made up a reason for leaving the commune on like a "trip" or something so that they don't know what happened and he can return if his days aren't really numbered.

humans (especially those who have some power, like the 'leader') are very untrustful and some, even if bitten, are still too much of a coward to say they were bitten bc they know they'll be killed for it, and they don't want to die. It's not a case of "he had hopes it would be okay", he knew what was going to happen to him, but he chose to pretend nothing happened.
