you know what's messed up about these subverting expectations kind of harem manga? that they always do the same thing, they go like "heh, so you thought this would be another one of those dime-a-dozen harem stories? nuh huh this one is different! we play on tropes but subvert them! pretty cool huh" but by volume 2 it has devolved back into a completely by the books harem manga because there's nothing you can really do with the genre that doesnt involve making it something other than a harem.

The justification is only like 1/3rd true, as it’s most just bait. Now isn’t the time to push her down some “redemption” path when:
1. Doesn’t work as she wasn’t giving the correct tools to accomplish redemption.

My main issue is that his strategy requires more emotional intelligence than he should have. He's a shy weirdo who blabs about manga when a cute girl acts friendly to him, he shouldn't have been able to instantly understand her psychological hang-ups and devise the perfect way to reassure her.

For me it’s a toss up on one side it is wrong to intentionally make other fall for you only for your amusement however all long as she never reveals that side of her and she just treats it with respect then it’s kinda of a no harm no foul even if morally she’s in the wrong
