You can tell it's the past because of her hair style. Shorter hair is the past, longer hair is the current day.
This is a flashback to one of their dates in high school so we already know the outcome is that the two end up as far as can be seen happily married. This will pose no threat if it even is a bad thing.
We have no idea what is happening here except just a couple of panels and we can't see FMC's face. For all we know this guy was actually just a really good friend in the group she hung out with in middle school and they were all close so they used their first names, but now that she hasn't kept in touch she isn't calling him by first name anymore. Maybe she wasn't always a gal so this guy knows that part of her or something. The series has had baits like this that have turned rather wholesome...and they get married so we know it will all be alright.

I swear anytime an ex (or in this case a presumed ex) or another person shows up y'all start bitching about NTR. This is just like with the co worker when y'all did the same shit. Not every interaction with the opposite sex is NTR

It is a flashback so it was already solved. Still annoying though.
Right? Any time another person shows up of the opposite sex everyone screams NTR...like come on. At least wait until the part is over before getting so damn upset and screaming that. It really is starting to get annoying and not even for this manga but others I read as well. Maybe I should just stay out of comment sections for stuff I read lol.

It's going to be interesting. Old boyfriend (sleazy or kind), childhood friend, family member how will the author twist expectations. Hope it's another chance for our MC to step up if that's the direction this new character requires.
