The only reason I am inclined to think that he graduated. Is that we have not seen him. Nor had her go visit him through out this many chapters. But there is always the chance

Lowkey it’d be a let down if it was the guy she’s interested in romantically, cuz that’d just be too convenient for the Amane and Ijichi, but I see this being the most likely outcome. In the end though, I’d be fine with this development, Ryo’s still interesting.

I think the function of her character is to accelerate Amane & Ichiji, as they would otherwise settle into “we both like him but aren’t going to do anything about it”.

Aside from some hijinks & making the girls jealous, her maybe having another otaku as a love interest can also awaken Seo’s mind to the possibility of romantic interest in the girls (he won’t even entertain the idea as he thinks they are so far above him etc).

I don't think Ryo will be the new rival character. She has a crush with ANOTHER otaku, might be the person that gave her the sketchbook. That's why she knows otaku archtype very well, and become a tsun around that topic.

The second page shows that.
She become tsuntsun and self-tsukkomi herself while being shy. She told that otaku type won't date gals ever, but then quickly retracted, "That's not always true though, you know!!" It's because she want to be with that person.

Furthermore, she's also said, "Let me use you as a reference, I mean wait, no."

Because Seo is the otaku here, all her reactions fit him, but I still believe that it's a red herring. Maybe next episode we'll see the three gals basically become an alliance.

There will be a chapter of triple+double date of this otaku-gals!!
