it's the same story you've seen time and again... and I love slop like this. I'll take 250 chapters!

The cover says "press x to doubt".
I don't mind either ways, just don't want a wimpy MC.
Seems like he will be wimpy, but in a different way.

My prediction is he'll keep backing out of relationships to try to avoid altering 'the story'. On the other side of that theme will be Allen not behaving as he is 'supposed to according to the game', which is of course obvious since Allen isn't being piloted by a player.

Seems like a fun premise. Bit of a shame that Charles seems to be portrayed as generic, infantilized boob-lady, but meh. Can't have everything I guess :nyoron:

I'll give this a shot.

All of this is because of the weird convention of translating Yuusha as Brave. Yuusha really means hero, but so does Eiyuu, so translation convention went with Brave to distinguish even though it makes less sense. I like the way they went with the official translations of Yuusha ga Shinda: The Legendary Hero is Dead.
No, Brave makes more sense. Yuusha is made up of 勇 (courage, bravery, heroism) and 者 (someone, person), so it amounts to a brave or heroic person, someone doing brave acts. A brave warrior. Sure, hero, too. But not the kind of hero that eiyuu is.
Eiyuu is the kind of hero who gets this title from others after he has performed some heroic deed. Like someone's personal hero or a national hero.
Basically, eiyuu is a hero glorified by the people. Yuusha is a chosen hero or champion in the context of a story or quest, while an eiyuu isn't. Brave warrior or just Brave is a better fit in the English language, since he hasn't become a glorified hero yet and in the context of these stories bravery is always something required of a yuusha.

The MOMENT this gets so bad that it's anywhere close to Re:Monster, I'm dropping it. Bland, basic opening, but not a lot of the good ones actually have good openings.

I really wish the author would have had him just 'play fight' with it like he was doing with the guards. It would be fine if he was eventually forced to down it because the hero was a no show, but having him just immediately reckt it is just kinda boring. Still I'll give it a chance. I always give these things chances, even when I shouldn't.

DO NOT DISRESPECT THE SOURCE MATERIAL!!!

for real tho, even if I play a self insert gacha game and I really love one of the cute girls in it, I would rather see the MC of the game get on with her rather than stealing her outright. Idk, maybe it is because I have a lot of respect for said gacha game's story writing, but bastardize a story I love feel like intrusive thought telling you to jump or something.

All I want is something similar to this premise but the guy isn't max level overpowered. Like basically he's hard capped at super low stats but only really has game knowledge. No re:zero style respawning, no special cheap shot hits, just like guy trying his best to survive a world just based upon his wits and some combat training. As a twist the game he played is one of those which has a hard time limit cataclysm and is compelled to do a journey to leave the world.

Then as a massive fuck you, the world also does level scaling but as a mob character he doesn't even get to have levels at all. So it'd be like 3-5 chapters of "objective survive" vs a literal slime in a high level area as a lv 10 guard, doing this sort of ridiculous the end style boss fight, only for it to get unceremoniously blown away in one hit by the murder hobo protagonist character. But otherwise the fights are all him implementing all these different cheese strats into increasingly elaborate plans. He shouldn't really be quite a loser, but also not quite someone on top of the world. A small fish trying to make his way across a dangerous ocean.

Ahh~ It's one of those " 'I'll not intervene on the main plot'-- But still entangled on the main plot" MC. Never gets old.

The "hides his strength" from the title says it all, I think.
i think he means wimpy as in lets himeself get strongarmed into stuff ignoring the fact thats literally one of the few ways to get him into the plot scenarios

I have an irrational hatred for “protect the scenario” type characters, the fact that you even exist has already changed it!

The conflict always feels contrived as the author piles on women and cheat skills for the MC to be annoyingly evasive with. If you want slow life, don’t make MC a demigod.

Is the writer so clueless to name a female character Charles?
That's probably the only unexpected stuff here, I guess.
