This is just a guess of mine as I haven't seen the raw, but on Page 7, when the translation mentions "your girlfriend" and he seems confused, I'm guessing that the original is using the term "kanojo", which does mean girlfriend, but sometimes also means "her" or "that girl".

So you can also understand the sentence as she saying "Just worry about her", which I think makes more sense in the context on why he is confused, as it could be referring to any girl (there are 2 more).

This is a protagonist who is a manipulator, someone who saw his father manipulating women and learned from that. He doesn't like what his father did though, but regardless, he learned to manipulate people.

Him hearing about a "girlfriend" could give him hints of a misunderstanding, like him being seen the day before, but if he were to understand the equivalent to "her", that's when he could be confused, as it's so generic.

And people who have sex do not necessarily think of each other as boyfriend and girlfriend, you can always pay a prostitute (I can understand that some white knights may fall in love that way though).

You can say it's "just trying to argue" but manga artists have characters act out-of-character for a laugh/comedic relief all the time. It doesn't have to be a MC who's constantly dense or has it as an established part of his character.

And yes, "people who have sex don't necessarily think of eachother as boyfriend/girlfriend" was exactly my point, so I don't know why you're seemingly bringing it up as an argument against me.

I don't have to be trying to be contrary or whatever to argue against you. I just don't share your opinion that it's a poor TL of the line, and this is a comments section, where people talk about things.

Odeseeker (the strongest elf) and the Elf Queen were supposed to officially bang to produce the next Elf ruler, but one of them was sterile. Odeseeker was kicked out of the palace and the Queen was imprisoned in it as a failure (though based on the author's constant NTR writing it was most likely Odeseeker's defective balls that was at fault).

Odeseeker swore to burn down the kingdom as payback, made a homunculus clone of the Queen as their "daughter", and turned her into a super weapon to do it.

MC's jailbait became best friends with the clone, so the MC beat Odeseeker and took over the government, since being contracted to multiple great spirits at once made him stronger than the royal bloodline.

The MC freed the now former Queen and both her and Odeseeker swore allegiance to him as thanks for reuniting them and sparing their "daughter" (also for the MC not fucking Odeseeker's wife in front of him lol).
