It is bad writing, just declaring him insane doesn’t explain how he ever thought this plan would work, nor was there enough characterization to explain his irrational behavior. He wants to be emperor? Sure, but he should at least understand what leverage is, of which he has none on a clearly hostile third party.

Dead Tube was different, it made it clear from very early on that it wasn't afraid to go that far and repeatedly did throughout the story.

Familia has been very insistent on keeping the 'purity' of its female MC's (which now that I think about it, also applies to the female lead in Dead Tube itself), always bringing them into scenarios where it could happen but never actually does.
