@Raknasuu Such cases remind me of an annoying song. You have already drawn conclusions, considered an annoying moment, etc., but it still pops up in your memory when you see something that reminds you of it.

I couldn't think of a better example. The feeling is indeed similar.

Annoying songs tend to be popular too. Or infamous. Gal Cleaning is definitely the second case.

@Raknasuu Well, with any luck, it will be just a random experience. The biggest suffering if you get it from the title, which you consider one of your favorites. Eh, I began to feel like a sadist and a masochist.

I still have the impulse to read the manga you recommended. I can only comply with the idea of feeling a little like both an S an M myself.

You know what? I already find myself reading taboo stuff like 1 x 1/2 anyway... I think I might be able to stomach it. I'll add it to the "To read" list for now.

@Raknasuu For me there is no taboo if the relationship is voluntary, conscious and is not associated with any violation of the law. At least this is what I have defined for myself as a psychologist. So if it’s not violence, not toxic manipulation, lust, or some kind of Stockholm syndrome, then let it be.

Are we talking about 1 x 1/2? If anything it depicts everything you find wrong as bad things, and has some valid points in the nature of the main cast's relationships. It's surprisingly introspective while also being a dumpster fire. That doesn't make the situation less uncomfortable for me because that's what we live in a society has taught me is taboo... It's kind of something I internalized. Maybe.

Changing your own world view is hard.

@Raknasuu My father was a religious conservative, while my mother is a left-wing political activist. I grew up with the understanding that the value of life in its diversity, lol.

Ok. That's one heck of a couple.

For me, the change on perspective mostly comes from getting actual girl friends in HS. Turns out most of the girls I talked to there where pretty open about sexuality at that age. Especially sexual orientation.

It's helped me not assume anything from anyone until "enough" information is given. How much is that "enough" IDK.

@Raknasuu Well, my first queer friend was a trans man who did not want to transition because "beautiful girls are hot". After meeting him, I realized that everything is relative.

Oh. I have a friend in a similar situation. They are at the process of transition but haven't come out to their family and such and they can't go to work as a trans person either.

The "beautiful girls are hot" thing comes out a lot. But mostly as them bragging their wider strike zone and the principal reason to keep their reproductive organ even if it doesn't represents them.
