I'm wondering the exact same thing. Perhaps the novel explains that? I haven't checked it yet. The cynic in me suspects it is most likely just a poorly developed gimmick for justifying the whole slave harem trope.

I said in an earlier chapter that Tsukuru's girl classmate just lost some points when he took in Kana.
Girl classmate once again lost points, now that Tsukuru also took in Hanna (hey his two girls rhyme).

Though it is cringey that Kana wants her slave status reinstated, like you aren't Rishia (from Shield Hero) girl.

So apparently S class heroes where almost chump change? MC getting more money in lots higher then probably most of his class cost. Also makes no sense to remake her a slave, if it's for pretend just give her something fake and use the concealment thing to make her look legit. It's one of my most hated tropes to have love interests as slaves for no reason.

I am confused. He bought a slave for 100M. Then now some random noble can just make her not a slave without paying back the 100M? So this “slave” is different from other isekai slaves bound by contracts. Essentially useless. I love harem but only when the women are useful to the MC. I genuinely hate baggage. “I will follow you even if you kill gods”, then proceeds to say “I will buy this woman as a slave if you wont, even though she tried to kill you”. The whole thing is idiotic. It would have been a great solo story but it is what it is
