From all my complaining, I can't lie, "drive fly closer so I can hit him with my sword javelin" is too fucking awesome. I was hoping they were gonna joust, but tbh that's too unrealistic even with this series.

They don't have any secret "Gate". If they already had that, they wouldn't have needed to kidnap Lelei and make such a riot. They kidnapped Lelei because they wanted to open a "Gate" in their country. And not only China, the United States is also involved in this kidnapping.

I'm guessing they're gonna close the gate, then open it again since Lelei is already in our world.

Now that I think about it, I recently found out after this series ends, there is a spin-off about the Japanese Navy in the other world and was wondering how they get ships through a gate in the middle of a city (maybe the same way they got large planes through) but maybe they save Lelei, or China opens a gate and it's on the shore of Japan/China

That's the sequel. "Gate 2 ~Weight Anchor~". The story focuses on the JMSDF (Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force). The time setting is after the Gate is successfully reopened by Lelei (more than 1.5 years Special Area time or 4 years Japanese time from the ending of Gate 1). At the ending of Gate 1, the "Gate" was forced to close and destroyed due to the chaos in Alnus. Since this is JMSDF, so... new MC and harem.

Idaten Protocol = general retreat from battlefield and regroup at Alnus. This order had been issued when the Ginza Garrison had been overtaken by the "riot". The units holding the fort at Alnus were preparing to evacuate in accordance with the retreat preparation order. Escape Rabbit Protocol = general evacuation from Special Area.

I really like that this chapter shows that the Modern military is not invincible, even if they have the advantage, they can still get killed.

Well you should remember where they get most of those, many of Pina's women knights are wounded in the protracted defence of the embassy. Not everything are surface scar like those, not few lost limbs and vision, some straight up died.
