At least someone is doing something, while 99% of the JSDF just sitting on their hands, as ordered by the politicians.

It was pretty lowly to assist the rebellion to reach the critical point and then suddenly withdraw. I doubt the folks in the other world will ever forget that betrayal.

Yeah I think so. I was like "OH NO!" when I hear the withdrawal order. I can feel the confusion when the awaited reinforcement never came.

Well, the otherworld folks were warned beforehand about the gate closure scenario and they did agreed to handle the matters on their own while JSDF tried to convince their higher-ups to rescind the retreat order.

Just that the otherworld folks only realized that lot of traitors are lingering among them and causing chaos in the local and wartime.

I guess this can be called progress. Still seems like a huge ass-pull that the gov would just let some alleged Rioters occupy what is essentially a military facility for that long.
The whole thing is that the current PM is cowardly and is more concerned about his party keeping control of the government next election than actually doing their job. That's why he hasn't fully mobilized the SDF, as it would "make him look bad in the eyes of the voters" for "using unnecessary force".
