Also, man, so this is how these long-ass sub-plots go out? Not with a bang (pun unintended), but with a whimper.
The whole Lelei thing just... Resolves. The CCP dudes just get caught. The CCP spies just kinda fail. The Diablo just gets off scot-free.

I bet the whole leaving the zone order will be forgotten after a chapter or two.

The Chinese agents don't know that the actual gate is the center and probably think that the outer part generates the portal in the center. They want to deny the Japanese their gate, so if one gets opened in China they have power over negotiations and can use any Earthlings still in the other world as hostages.

It might be too late to say this but if this weren't some nationalistic anime, America would have joint custody of the gate with Japan due to Japan's small force. If GATE were to be even possible, Article 9 (I think) has to be revoked. I'm also confused with the decisions some of the characters make here because it reeks incompetence (maybe just like the real world).

Also, I think the GATE is indestructible.
