Why can't this manga be like this all the time? This is much better than all the other shenenigans.

@So-chan

Because 75 chapters straight of advanced military forces curbstomping a bunch of dudes with swords can get boring.

So-chan that's so edgy... You really want a manga of people getting slaughtered all the time? not even Hellsing does that, is just an edgy fantasy of wasted resources.

But anyway that was great, they're unstoppable !! I'm actually surprised that they had one casualty, maybe an arrow or a surprise lance to the chest.

I feel the same way, So-chan
Though I wouldn't mind it a few chapters with Furuta the spy cook, just anything but the dull MC and his harem.

@xyzzy That's a fair point, though you could vary it a bit. You could have smaller teams defending an entrenched position from hundreds of people with swords with no air support. It doesn't have to be total curbstomping all the time.

@Serenata nah man, not slaughtering all the time, but more military operations, more skilled operatives preparing and planning operational operations. The logistics, the military power struggles. The fun stuff. Not this harem nonsense. There is enough harem mangas our there.

@Ironclad But GATE chapters are so rare you'd have enough breaks between jerking it to JSDF that it could work. Besides, you could spice it up by jerking it to some other military organizations inbetween chapoters. Like pickled ginger between sushi bites.

@Stormdragon Furuta chapters are nice too. MC is really boring at this moment.

Those are some really old engine exhaust outlets (thrust reverse mechanism buckets can be seen) on that C-15. Along with the Type 74 MBT and the F-4, does japan really still operate these outdated technology as a backup?

Yeah, i understand if some people feel bored with frequent curb-stomp. For many times Empire seems always caught underfoot and unprepared by JSDF which lead to inevitable curb-stomp. Personally if not for good art and scene presentation, it'd be boring.
The harem hijinks can be as worse, especially Itami act like usual harem protag lately.

At very least for each curb-stomp, there are some consequences for Japanese govt, even if it just from politic and diplomatic side. It's interesting to see the diplomacy and politic struggle that ensues.

@ZdrytchX
IRL yes, JSDF still operate a lot of cold war materiel. Replacing all of them with newer materiel is costly. As 2017 both Type 74 and F-4 phantom is still in service. Though i read in Phantom case, its also due to delays in F-35 project.

I would've thought that japan would at least have a few of their japanese variants of their F-15s at least for modern conflicts. Then again, they do pretty much always have at least one american squadron on the japanese lands at any given time.

I read somewhere that JSDF unit in the special area is deliberately using older equipment if they can, so if something bad happen and they need to abandon it, the loss would not be that great.
Hence Type 74 MBT, Phantoms and Howa Type 64 rifles.
