Unpopular opinion: Itami and the Harem interactions ruin this manga.
I hate Itame because he dosent give a shit about the Special Region, dude got NO punishment for getting the Elves killed.

Ok... I understand the part where you say that he doesn't care for the special region, not right but ok... but the elves he killed?

If you are talking about the dark elves that died during the dragon slaying, the same slaying that he risked his life to do to help Tuka, that "wasn't" him.

They died fighting a dragon, and Yuuji's plan wasn't to fight head front with the thing, he wanted to do a very smart ambush, the dragon just appeared early and Rory couldn't warn them because of radio malfunction and some of the elves died because they FOR SOME REASON thought that they could kill the thing with swords just because it was downed for a moment, I won't count those that panicked and used the rockets wrong because... well, modern weaponry and panic, understandable.

You could call Yuuji a coward if you want, I think he would accept that, but he really isn't... he just has self-preservation, and he isn't always right with what he says, but he is very careful with anything he does that involves more than himself, the whole dragon slaying quest is a good example of that, he only accepted that to help Tuka and before that, he refused to take his subordinates to fight that catastrophe.
