I never said the effect lasted, but at that time many people were suprised by it and it was really funny to see how many "journalists" specializing on cinema where putting up articles about how they discovered that animation wasn't for kids, ignoring every other not for kids animation films (especially western ones) that had existed before...

They do say "Media Literacy is Dead", or more likely "Media Journalists don't really care about Media and regrets taking that Journalism degree"

The message to the future self really is a mood

There's some allure in seeing and hearing about what your past self's life was like in their view. Hindsight makes it hard to know what we actually thought back then, but we, talking to our future self and bearing that plainly, is just fascinating to see.
