Thank you, I was wondering this as well. Were the effects on Russia the same IRL as theyre described in this comic? I wonder if we'll see Putin, or a Putin expy at some point. I dont know as much about Russian history as I should but IIRC Putin took power because he provided a degree of stability and prosperity following the near-apocalyptic chaos of the 90s in Russia, didnt he? This seems like the sort of thing I heard about in that respect.

I think leaving it as "crossing the point of no return" would have been fine and much more widely understandable.

"Crossing the Rubicon" has connotations of eventual success after the initial period of turmoil (e.g., Julius Caesar's titular crossing of the Rubicon causing civil war in Rome which eventually led to him founding the Roman Empire)

"Crossing the point of no return" is more general

Just binge-read this. It's nice to read something intellectually stimulating like Spice & Wolf, this does a similar thing, just with modern economics instead of medieval.

Informing the cousin or whatever he is, seems like very lax from a safety standpoint (although there was foreshadowing during that family meet). She should not be so hormonally reactive, being 7 years old.
If this leads to problems, I think the writer should be ashamed. Romanov? Potential family betrayer cousin? Feh.

Romanov stuff seems like fairly standard chunni VN plot behavior. It’s exactly the sort of schlock that reminds us she’s inside a story.

Not sure why she thinks she’s safe on the boat because it’s family when her family is full of backstabbing sharks. Does she think they’d protect her because they want to get her money first or is she underestimating the danger of somebody teaming up with the Russians in order to split the reward?

Personally i’d consider worsening things for Russia as a threat to back off by pulling out of any investments in the region or scouting out alternative suppliers, but I guess she isn’t mean or spiteful enough to do that to anyone.
