nah, wouldn’t really say racism, they’re just afraid of humans, and rightly so since they can use skill orbs and become way more powerful, and knowing humans it’s not hard to imagine what would’ve happened if this species didn’t have their magical technology, actually you don’t even have to imagine it, iirc they already talked about how they were treated, they’re fear and concern is absolutely justifiable

I think the real takeaway here is that someone banged a lizard, and that humans are apparently biologically compatible with them. Both of those things are weird.

or someone GOT banged BY a lizard....which is still weird, but not as weird as the other way around...

Interestingly the runes seems to be trying to say "angelic hair". Usually this would be the reading for the kanji but it's not like that here.

This also implies that there's more to it than just beauty - but it doesn't have to be a lot more I guess, "a woman's hair is her soul" or suchlike is a saying I've spotted in manga before..

The weird part is that the "angelic" part is hidden in the runes, which most people can't read, while the Japanese ones simply say 美髪 in kanji and the furigana only says its normal reading, びはつ (bihatsu), nowhere in the Japanese part does it have the word "angelic".

Compare this to, say, Konosuba where the kanji is 爆裂魔法 while the reading says ekkusupuroshion instead of the normal "bakuretsu mahou".

Or it's supposed to be a plot point that she herself doesn't really understand the skill and thinks it's just to keep her hair pretty (and not really considering it has three stars), but they use the correct runes for the skill to remind (and as a wink to) those who have read the OG story in text?
