No, the stairs help spread the load. The planks/timbers would probably break if they had put it right out in front.

But since we in a previous image saw there was plenty of free space on the other side, they should have put the planks on that stair instead and used this difficult one as the footpath for walking people.
So yet another issue with "poor mangaka planning" sadly.

Yeah, I like Mimino the most in all the girls of this series. Even more than Lark ( the girl who use dark magic ) and the young lady.

The young lady was high key the worst choice ever. I'm happy she was left behind. I'd appreciate it a lot if there won't be any more romantic interests too.
