Both kids are about the age to start puberty and have been conditioned to believe they're wants trump the rights of others. If they were perfectly happy to inflict physical violence for perceived slights, I have no doubt that unfamiliar sexual urges will be followed through without any thought or self-control; kid thinks "I want" and then immediately does it without thinking about what will happen.

The problem with that argument is that it would be a lot more likely to lead them sexually assaulting a classmate first.

Having two kids not only suddenly take their lack of self-control in a sexual direction (which is strange to develop after they've already developed murderous reflexes, if anything it should be the other way around) but both direct it toward their moms as their first targets AND within a close timeframe like that is a pretty big stretch.
