I do think Ai-chan and the business guy was kinda gross coupling from the beginning, in terms of the initial age gap and his behavior and such, but it seems weird if that's the reason for his reduced presence when Maegami x Sensei exists. Maybe the author intends to progress that after she graduates or something.
