Color me surprised! I would have seriously bet that Chieri would have been the first to get animated. I remember hearing that it had a much larger readership, and it seems like it would have been a much "safer" pick, being more or less a conventional "dream girl" series in the vein of Komi or Uzaki.

This might be a bit bad mannered, but I'm actually kind of glad Oriko's the one hitting the screen instead of Chieri, largely because Chieri is so much "safer". I think Oriko is likely to be a lot more memorable in the eyes of viewers who aren't already deep in the giantess rabbit hole and inspire a wave of giantess-focused imitators, in a similar way to how Monster Musume sparked a monster girl boom back in 2015, or how Onimai sparked a TSF boom. Chieri, I think, is too conservative to have the same effect - it would be a lot of "the giantess gimmick is fun, but I've seen all this before" and kind of get lost in the sea of all the other cookie cutter "dream girl" romcoms.

I'll still watch Chieri if she ever does make it to the screen, but I'm definitely a lot more excited to see Oriko come out ahead and get first dibs on a TV adaptation. Now excuse me while I go pop the biggest bottles.

This is probably the horniest work for Tatsunoko productions to date

Soon fluffy sebas pillows. :meguusmug:
It is a pity Sumire appears so late into the story, the products they could have make...

I do wonder how far they'll make it. I can't imagine it'll be a chapter an episode so we'll probably get a few dozen in. I could see them aiming for Chapter 56 as the final episode since Chapter 57 is the start of "Part 2."

This is EXACTLY where I think they'll stop it too, here's why...

With this being a gag manga where it's one extreme to the next with the different chapters, most episodes aren't really going to have a specific theme or plot other than probably the first one and when stella arrives, as a result it's hard to determine a good stopping point that doesn't seem too random but I believe THIS chapter the best one for it as it's quite an intense fight scene as well as includes most if not all the characters as well as expands the story a bit whilst also leaving on a cliff-hanger for a possible season 2.

Oh baby,this is huge!

It's finally coming to the big screen!

We gotta make this a giant amongst others!

Do what you can, folks,to ensure the this series becomes large n' in charge!

Make the revenue inflate so much that they have to give it a second season!

Expand the possibilities!

Widen the minds of others,too!

Through our efforts,we shall ensure that it'll get so massive that the whole world will know about this!

It's a good point, but I think a lot of things would be left out this way, and for us readers, it might feel like too much of a summary.

But of course, the other option is to shorten it much earlier, I've seen people on the subreddit opining that Stella's appearance is a good stopping point, but I'm sure for most it would be too soon.

So, in both cases something would have to be sacrificed, characters or stories, even with those I trust they will do things right.

This is good news! I got introduced to this series when someone mentioned it in the comments on Chieri's Love is 8 Meters, and I liked Chieri more at first, but as I've read both series side by side, I've come to like Giant Ojou-sama better.

It's more creative, it has a more interesting cast and theme, it can do more with the story, and has a better and more flexible setting. It's also a lot less cliche. I think Giant Ojou is more deserving of an Anime and I hope it's popular, because it's really underrated.

This manga's got heart and love for its characters along with a warm feeling overall. Not to say I wouldn't watch a Chieri Anime, I would and would also hope it'd be good. That said, I think Chieri would have a greater chance of being lost in the cracks if it ever came out against a big shounen action Anime. It could also be ignored in favor of one of the endless high school romantic comedies out there too, or high school action / drama / mystery / horror / anything really that also has obligatory romance in there.
