Wasn't sure what was going with the new group and all, but it's good to see this series being finished. And congrats on starting another group (by the way, for some reason, the chapters are placed before 31)

After some miniscule reflection, I'd say this series would be a 6 out of 10 (anything below 5 not being worth the read) cause while I found the premise interesting, it was never able to take off

The reclaiming of Tsushima felt like the introductory chapter to the series, but I guess I'd rather see it end like this than get closure of an entire story in a couple of chapters.
Also, guess there's an extra chapter somewhere since it says 40 chapters and 5 volumes on anilist.

Thanks to everyone who participated in translating this series!

When this started, I was pretty excited and looking forward to it. I really liked how the organism was obviously inspired by Carpenter's "Thing" and wanted to see what could happen...what a shitshow it ended up being tho

This was alright but has issues across the board. MC kind of sucks, took too long to get back to the island, I will say the monsters and fights were grotesque and cool though. Probably a 5 based off that ending, maybe a 4?

Thanks for finishing the translation new team. It's clear this was supposed to be longer, but can't stay mad, it was really boring and I can't put my finger on why.

Well this is par for the course for this artist. Great art but questionable plot. Same thing happened with Terraformars.

AoT (Attack on Tsushima) here felt like a prologue and it has a mildly intriguing spin on multiple concepts we've all seen before including the very obvious Shingeki no Kyojin inspiration, but sadly the MC is...unlikeable, because he is so mediocrely generic. He is not even someone deeply polarizing like Eren, I just couldn't care enough about Gen to hate him for being an edgy mofo or sympathize with his losses. Both the author and artist definitely tried to depict him as someone you should be able to relate to, but they failed. Rin's thicc legs and her Egon Spengler looking buddy were, honestly, more interesting than Gen. Not even his Ultraman forms managed to convince me to root for him. To me the real MCs were the JSDF soldiers and if the MC really has to be an IAS-human hybrid, it should have been Captain Okita, at least for the first era if they had really wanted to do another Terra Formars style of multi-generational plot.

As a side note, the author here is not the same as the one Tachibana worked with in Terra Formars.

thank you for finishing the series though I'm curious as to how they dealt with the IAS on the ships.

that ended with utter dogshit.

I mean the entire last arc in general was fuckin ass tbh, so much felt like just cheap shock moments and shit.
