The only complaint that i have in this whole series

is the absence of asaemon and shachi in the whole final arc. especially asaemon, she's the most underrated, and most forgotten character in gintama

aaaaaaa it's finally over~! thank you gori-sensei and hi wa mata noboru for translating this series for all these years! i still remember how happy i was when you picked up gintama after it had been abandoned (back during the 4 devas arc i think?)

i'm glad that nothing has really changed at the end, after all, gintama was never about reaching a happily ever after. it was story of a group of strangers who find a family in each other and all the antics they get up to together. because being able to butt heads and laugh together was their happily ever after. so i'm glad that no matter who they lose, they will still be laughing till they cry and crying till they laugh because these idiots will always still be idiots. (also, gintoki would look absolutely terrible with the naruto/bleach dad-cut. let's not kid ourselves about him being a responsible parent, he couldn't even manage two, very independent, teenagers)

i'd like to think that the recording shinpachi left tama about how "even if they weren't under the same sky anymore, that they would break through worlds and panels to wipe away her tears" was also a message to the readers that even if we're sad that the story is over, gintama will still exist in our samurai heart will still be there for us to pick up and make us laugh again

I feel guilty that I'm a bit relieved because this last arc was a complete slog to get through. It honestly deserved a better ending but gorilla will gorilla. On the other hand AAAAAAAAA it's been 12 years of my life, I can't believe I won't see Gin-san again. It feel so wrong, life without Gintama! I think I'm tearing up a little.
