What the hell were the people talking about in the previous chapter thread?

The “official” w/e is free to view anyway and it is not even being updated regularly.

Anonymity can truly turn some people into idiots.

The comic was effectively dead you brought back, please ignore the stupid and do what ever it is you want to do.

This was in the "on hold" list so I didn't realize it was back!

And now I realize it's not back

Hopefully a TL group with a spine picks this up. Seriously though, the official translation is still at chapter 36 and at their current rate won't pass this for 5 months. Who the hell was calling this piracy anyway? Can't exactly call it that when the official release is free to read. This is (or was anyway) more like doing their job for them only faster and on a website that isn't terrible.

Thanks for the chapters, friend. It's appreciated, despite whatever controversy you faced.

why you do this? you give me hope and then trashing it around, "official" translation is light years behind and their update rate is even more light years behind what controversy ? what pirate? the moment you read something on any scanlator site you are a pirate already, might as well fully embrace it

Pls don't drop it cuz some idiot is badmouthing you, the series was dead in it's English version since the previous scanlators stopped it and the official version is progressing at a snail's speed, so you aren't taking anything from the author since that version is not up to date to the "grey" version. If it was up to date then yes i'd understand the idiot's complaints, but it's not, so he is still an idiot that needs not be taken into consideration. So pls don't drop it, thanks in advance.

Thank you scanlators for dropping the series; I know it's difficult and you put a lot of effort into the chapters, but I think it was the right decision ^^

Thank you for translating these two chapters at least.

Sad to see a backlash this strong.
This series is fortunate in that an official translation got picked up relatively early on. But for series like Iron Ladies it will take literal years before they're up to date, if they haven't dropped it by then because interest has dissipated.

The number of series that actually have permission from their creator to be put on here is probably fantastically miniscule. Everything else is in the same boat as this was. If you had a problem with the group working on this one, I invite you to only read that minority. It'll be good for your conscience, apparently?

@Glomoro you're completely missing the point. This has nothing to do with having the author's autorization (an author cannot give their autorization, the rights are the editor's).
The point was that a group is scanlating while there's an official (and free) translation available.
However in this case, considering the official release doesn't really seem to care about its release... is it really an issue at all ? That's up to the group to decide.
Whenever there's an official release in your language I'd rather support the author if you've got the means, considering the many who can't do so (including myself) I consider it fine even if there's something else as long as it's scanlation and not rehosting of the officials (forbidden on MD anyway).

@Shyning Actually there's several things on here that I'm aware of that wouldn't have an editor at all, because they were never officially picked up. Twitter and Pixiv series, more or less, that someone asked the author directly for permission to translate. Those could even be cases where you don't even have to ask, depending on how the sites hosting the original protect stuff if at all, but it's still "the right thing to do." I'm just saying, the vast majority of stuff on here is being pirated without any level of permission at all, and that's obviously not respecting the author/artists. We shouldn't pick and choose when that's acceptable and when it isn't, it's pretty hypocritical.

@Glomoro I never said it was acceptable towards the author, I just found it, in my opinion, acceptable.
I don't care whether it's acceptable to the author or not, of course it's not. If you can support the author then it's a great thing to do, but whether the author (and editor) are fine with scanlation is something I couldn't care less about, I'm thankful to the scanlators who allowed me to read such rich content over the decades, it's something I could never have afforded.
Supporting authors if possible and endorsing scanlation isn't being an hyprocrite, it's just embrassing the most of both worlds. If there's no money that goes the authors/editors' way, there's no scanlation. I also firmly believe scanlation allowed many people to get interested in manga (and other such forms of litterature, including LN/WN/etc) which in itself brought many more customers. I don't believe there's much loss when the vast majority of the people reading online are people who wouldn't have read such content otherwise (whether because they weren't interested or because they couldn't afford it).
But that's another matter.

@Shyning All I'm talking about in the first place is this.
Thank you for respecting the series' creators by dropping this. 😍

Yes, those people are absolutely being hypocrites. They're enjoying the results of piracy while condemning other specific instances of piracy. That's pretty much a textbook definition right there.
