By the end of middle school, Yura started to hang out with other outcasts like herself, so Wakana couldn’t approach her. Also their parents had given up about trying to build connection through their daughters. Yura could have moved to another school, but in the end she still choose to go to the same school as Wakana.

Yet, until she caught Wakana already lovey-dovey♡ with Ruruna, she still avoided Wakana at all cost.
So it took an ntr-like situation for her to finally move.

If you could see love got axed tho. Like, I didn't love the way they ultimately chose to wrap it up either, but that ending was clearly the result of rushing out an attempt at a satisfying-ish conclusion to the story with only the 2-3 chapters they had left, not the ending they'd planned on. monogamy was definitely not where things were going if the story hadn't been truncated. They even tried to squeeze in the implication of their relationship potentially becoming poly in the epilogue.

So acting like that manga was some betrayal of polyamory by Mikami-sensei feels more than a bit disingenuous to me.

Yura talk in third person, so it gets annoying to try keeping it consistent.
Also strangely, in the novel, she always refer to Wakana by her name in internal monologue, instead of of Waka.
