Also, wow, the 2nd girl is a wannabe PUA. I wonder what's going on under the surface with this one. Losing all his male friends kinda tells me he probably wasn't close to any of them. The blond guy doesn't explain the plan; he just told them to take up specific positions—so much so that Girly is surprised to find out he's going to see the cat-girl changing. So, Kitano doesn't realize it involves spying on the girl while she changes.

That feels most likely to me. Kitano is the one being set up as the obvious love interest and it'd be odd if they did eventually find "the one girl" since I feel like part of the conceit of Girly as a protagonist is that he's one of the only few who are relatively normal about women. Him "hunting down the only girl" already feels like a weird thing that he's been set up to eventually give up on as character development.

To be fair unless the next chapter has catgirl's balls sticking out I think him being misinformed and completely wrong about that is the point.

Yeah, I guess I'm just underestimating Kitano's naivete. Like regardless of the plan presented to them, the reason Eru was "99% sure" this is the cis girl is because of an unintentional upskirt; how is the 1% not gonna just be a more elaborate version of that?Especially when the instruction was just "keep your eyes open".
